Working thesis title
The singular and combined effect of neck and vest cooling on physical performance, physiological and perceptual responses during simulated soccer performance in a hot environment.
Research Questions
- The effect of vest cooling on physical performance, physiological and perceptual responses during a practical pre-match warm-up and during the half-time interval on simulated soccer performance in the heat (32°C & 60% rH).
- The effect of neck cooling on physical performance, physiological and perceptual responses during a practical pre-match warm-up and during the half-time interval on simulated soccer performance in the heat (32°C & 60% rH).

About Me
Having graduated in July 2017 with a First Class Honours Degree in Sport and Exercise Science, I wanted to further my study and broaden my horizon through the study of a MSc by research.
Having gained valuable experience working within the Human Performance Centre at the 91µÎµÎ and as an intern strength & conditioning coach at Bedford blues during my final year as an undergrad, I felt that I needed a greater educational background to progress with my career either in the applied sporting performance context or within academia.
Having thoroughly enjoyed my dissertation project and area of study during my final year which looked at the effects of Caffeine and Tyrosine ingestion on cognitive, technical, physical performance and physiological responses in a temperate environment (18oC) utilising the intermittent soccer performance test (iSPT).ÌýÌýI decided to stay within this field of study alongside my previous dissertation supervisor, Dr. Jeffrey Aldous and begin to investigate alternative cooling interventions strategies within a hot environment during soccer specific performance.
Outside of university I am a semi-professional footballer for Bedford Town F.C, and also enjoy traveling when the opportunity arises.
